About Us
Founded in 1973 under the umbrella of the Polish National Alliance, the school operates as part of Zespół Szkolny "Gorale" — a network of weekend Polish language schools serving the Polish-American community across the Cleveland metropolitan area.
Our program is built around two pillars: language proficiency and cultural fluency. Students progress through a structured curriculum in Polish grammar, literature, and conversation while also engaging with Polish history, traditions, and the arts. The result is a generation of young people who can communicate with grandparents in their native tongue and carry a genuine understanding of Polish identity into their lives.

Programs
For children with little or no Polish background. Students build foundational vocabulary, basic grammar, and confidence in simple conversation through songs, games, and story-based lessons.
Students develop fluency in reading and writing Polish literature, engage with adapted texts by classic authors, and practice sustained conversation on topics relevant to Polish culture and family life.
Beyond language, students explore Polish history, geography, and traditions through seasonal celebrations, guest speakers, field trips, and collaborative projects that connect language to lived experience.
Heritage
For Polish-American families, the question is rarely whether their children should learn Polish — it is how to make it happen in a world that offers few structured opportunities. Our school exists at the intersection of necessity and love.
We teach Polish as a living language — one used in classrooms, performed on stages, sung in choirs, and carried home. Students graduate not only with language skills but with a sense of belonging to something larger than themselves: a culture that spans centuries and a community that spans continents.
Community
Parents are welcomed as partners in the educational process. Family events, holiday celebrations, and volunteer opportunities keep the community connected beyond the classroom.
From Christmas caroling to Constitution Day celebrations, students participate in events that bring Polish traditions to life and give them a public platform to share their learning.
Regular excursions to Polish cultural sites, museums, churches, and community landmarks across Northeast Ohio deepen students' connection to their heritage through direct experience.
